Gould Academy of Dance Arts
G.A.D.A. Dance Companies
The Gould Academy of Dance Arts currently has
two performing troupes, the Junior and Senior Companies.
These groups of student dancers audition or are selected as
Gould Dance Company dancers. The multi-talented
dancers have been awarded numerous Platinum, First and Second
Place Overall Awards in both the Regional and National
competitions and have also been recognized for excellence by the
Chicago National Association of Dance Masters.
The Gould Dance Company enjoys performing in

The G.A.D.A. Company, directed by Donna Gould Jessen,
is a dedicated group of dancers who study Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Acro
technique all year. We enter our dancers in competition to
allow them the competitive edge of performance. Our dancers
focus on training first. We compete in competitions for the
FUN of a competitive performance.
G.A.D.A. has trained numerous dancers to perform and
compete since 1984. Some of our dancers are now performing and
choreographing in Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles. These
professionals have choreographed for the Joffrey Ballet, Melissa
Thodo's Dance Company, and for Brittany Spears, to name a few.
Our Jazz Instructor Hanna Brictson who is a former Gould Student has
been performing in the River North Dance Co. since 2004.
The G.A.D.A. Company competes in two to -four
local/regional competitions every year, and one International
competition every other year.
The Award Winning G.A.D.A. Company has won numerous
1st Place category awards, plus 1st and 2nd Place
Overall awards in Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Ballet and
Acro.
In 2002, our Senior Jazz Troupe was selected to
participate in the World Showcase Championships (The Dance Olympics)
in Germany.
Dancers in G.A.D.A. are a positive group of
dancers who dance for the joy and love for dance. Our
dancers have been chosen to perform in The Joffrey Ballet
of Chicago Nutcracker, The Schaumburg Nutcracker, Joel Hall Nuts
and Bolts and the Dance Chicago Festival. Many
of our dancers are chosen as students in the Larkin
Academy of Performing Arts High School, Our students
are active in local musical theatre productions, as well as
being a member of their school's Dance and Cheer Teams. We
prepare our dancers with the training to fulfill their
individual goals. .
